- 1 302 TB cases diagnosed.
 
- A total of 3 226 employees enrolled in HAART programme.
 
 
- In PNG:
- 19 389 health contacts were made at all the PNG medical centres (FY09: 23 055).
 
 
Labour practices and human rights
- Total of 42 597 people employed at 30 June 2010, 36 893 full-time employees and 5 704 contractors.
 
- Group turnover of 14%.
 
- 30 747 employees received some form of training at a cost of R225 million.
 
- Foreign labour made up 28% of South African workforce.
 
- In South Africa:
- HDSAs made up 40% of management.
 
- 12% women in mining.
 
 
- In PNG, women made up 14% of the workforce.
 
- 88% of the South African workforce is unionised or covered by collective bargaining agreements.
 
Community
- In South Africa R58.8 million spent on LED projects and R23.1 million on CSR projects. 
 
- In PNG, US$1.1 million was spent on community programmes.
 
Environment
- No environmental fines or sanctions in FY10.
 
- Good progress towards ISO14001 implementation in South Africa. 
 
- Total water used for primary activities of 44 338 781m³ in South Africa and 1 843 000m³ in PNG.
 
- Electrical energy usage of 3 659 376MWh for the South African operations. Total energy consumption generated from diesel in PNG of 105 015MWh.
 
- Total of 7 884 tonnes of cyanide used in South Africa and 3 000 tonnes in PNG.
